SK Profiles - 'Link'

Link was known as a treasured hero in all the worlds of Smash, various stories born from every incarnation imaginable. With every incarnation of THE Link, people automatically expect great things. However, when people began pushing their expectations onto this incarnation, he felt trapped in an continuous cycle. He had no initial desire to be a hero, but he felt that he had to be because it is what everyone says he's supposed to be. The pressure grew... day after day... steadily driving himself insane... until one day, his crowning moment would draw near. The day he finally meets Ganondorf and stops his evil plan. Unfortunately... this Link had failed. Ganondorf defeated the renowned "Hero of Time" and left him to die.

However, this Link was brought back to life in the World of Brawl. He meets Ganondorf once more and discovers that it was Bowser who defeated him. Link sees that the cycle was wrong. He didn't have to be the one to defeat Ganondorf. He is free to be anyone he wanted to be. And since Ganondorf was the first one to give him that opportunity, he does the unthinkable and joins his cause. All the feelings he had pent up inside could finally be released, all the feelings of resentment he had of everyone around him making him out to be someone he wasn't. All that hate that had been blooming within him... could be set free! That forbidden insanity is brought out to the surface, and Link falls... becoming unlike any incarnation before him. He is the world's punishment personified...

Link is a member of "Team Ganon," made up of Ganondorf, himself, and Lucario. Because of his "sickness," Lucario is usually the one to keep an eye on him. He appears to have no real interest in Ganondorf's ambitions, as he says he's only siding with him just because he can. However, it may also be out of compensation because Ganondorf's the first one to treat him "normally." When kept under surveillance, he acts relatively casual around others for the most part. But when left alone, he will run rampant to his heart's content. He is exceptionally dangerous when he goes into his "Ascent Mode!"
